Sanbo Ken Kai Gojuryu was established in 2015 with a dedication to preserving and spreading traditional karate and the Higaonna Sensei system. Guided by our founder and chief instructor since day one, the dojo is built on a foundation of mutual respect, strict discipline, and continuous self-improvement.

We are a dedicated community where both children and adults train to cultivate mental focus, physical resilience, and strong character. By emphasizing the authentic techniques and core values of Gojuryu, our practice focuses on lifelong personal growth rather than just sport. Reflecting our commitment to these traditional roots, we have been proudly affiliated with TOGKF since 2023.

Sensei VijayaKumar's Karate-Do journey began in 1996 in Chennai. His early training was heavily influenced by Sempai Balachandran, who dedicated extensive time to personally training him. During this period, Sensei Vijay was highly praised by his seniors for his powerful and aggressive kicks, especially his mae-geri. He was appointed as an Assistant Instructor to Train Self Defense to Indian Customs Officers in India. Although he moved to Hyderabad to build his professional career, his profound dedication to practicing Karate led him to establish his own dojo there in 2013.

To deeply understand Sanchin and Tensho, the core katas of Goju Ryu, Sensei Vijay practices Yoga breathing techniques. He is also a certified Yoga instructor.

It was his long-held dream to train under the legendary Shihan Morio Higaonna—a dream that was realized in 2023 when he joined TOGKF. Today, leading Sanbo Ken Kai, Sensei Vijay guides his students along the authentic, holistic path of traditional Okinawan Goju Ryu.
